Tena Sobel

President

As President of The Brixton Group, Tena drives the strategic vision and direction of the firm alongside her husband, Andrew, Brixton’s EVP. Tena has returned for her third stint with Brixton and reprises her previous tenure, having assembled a top-performing team and a network of amazing Clients across the country.

Tena was instrumental in establishing and implementing Brixton’s virtual model that helped shape Brixton into an award-winning & top performing organization. In keeping with the “family-first” philosophy with Brixton, Tena took time away from the business to raise her three children, however always kept an eye on the business and an ear to the ground to remain abreast of industry trends.

In addition to running the business and her full-time mom duties, Tena is also a long-serving member of her neighborhood community board and an enthusiastic volunteer with her children’s schools.

Fun Facts:

★ Tena was born in Canada. Sorry!

★ She loves True Crime shows. Guilty!

★ Her favorite food is sushi. Sashimi!

Andrew Sobel

CEO/Executive Vice President

Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Andrew Sobel, is a seasoned entrepreneur providing leadership and vision for the entire Brixton team. He is responsible for the overall strategic direction and growth of the firm.

Andrew assembles and mentors a high caliber team, employing a hybrid virtual model, which many competitors have begun to emulate.

Andrew’s leadership has fostered The Brixton Group into a national, award-winning IT Services firm, in the midst of changing markets and intense competition.

He is recognized as an authority on the virtual recruiting model and often speaks throughout the U.S. Andrew earned a degree from Cornell University and lives in Charlotte with his wife Tena and their 3 children.

After playing competitive soccer and racking up two ankle surgeries, Andrew switched to rock climbing and can often be found at a local crag on a nice weekend.

In addition, he helped start a free competitive soccer program in Charlotte called the Matthews Mavericks, where he also is an assistant coach to one of the top boys team in the state.

Fun Facts:

★ Andrew's favorite food is NY style pizza…but with no toppings!

★ He’s an avid fan of any Kung Fu movie including the old dubbed movies from 30 years ago.

★ His favorite concert was Jamiroquai in the early 2000’s at the Tabernacle in Atlanta.

★ He is up for any backpacking adventure to any and all unpopular places.

Sean Slater

Vice President of Client Service & Delivery

Sean is a relationship-focused, detailed-oriented executive who’s responsible for driving Brixton’s Client Service and Delivery functions. His core values are an unremitting work ethic, stewardship, alacrity, respect, and integrity. With his team, Sean promotes these values to achieve success in Brixton’s strategy, approach, process, and Client delivery. He also oversees Brixton’s quality programs to ensure Brixton’s Clients’ and Partners’ expectations and satisfaction are exceeded. Finally, he serves as a business advisor to the staffing industry on Candidate Identity Fraud.

Prior to his career with Brixton, Sean honed his Sales and Delivery capabilities over a 15-year career with Accenture. His tour of duty included stops in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Washington DC predominately delivering expertise in functional & technology Consulting, Application Development, and Infrastructure & Business Process Outsourcing (on/off-shore). His engagements ranged in size from $5M to $60M.

Sean’s a Big 10er through and through with degrees from the University of Michigan (BA) & Penn State (MBA). He’s based in Philadelphia, PA. Outside of work, he enjoys his family, watching baseball, running, skiing, listening to music, quoting movies, golfing, and his Captain Morgan (& Diet Coke).

Fun Facts:

★ His maxims in life are “Happy to help”; “The only constant in life is change”; and “Perfect is the enemy of good.”

★ Prior to academics, he grew up a Navy brat and got the opportunity to travel the world.

Daphne Williams

Controller

Daphne Williams, CPA, has extensive experience in the world of finance. As a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional, she has been part of the leadership team for several highly successful organizations.

She began her career with a national public accounting firm. From there, she moved into the non-profit world and was the senior director of finance, for over 20 years, with an engaging and successful Charlotte organization.

Instead of the seven-year itch, it hit after 20, when she made a move into the Insurance Agency business as the Chief Financial Officer for a large Charlotte agency.

She joined the Brixton crew in 2020 and is enjoying the unique challenges and opportunities of the industry.

A Charlotte native, Daphne earned her Accounting degree from UNCC and can’t imagine moving more than 30 miles from the city center.

Fun Facts:

★ Daphne’s family can be traced back to the mid 1700’s in the Charlotte area. Her ancestors’ names are on documents from that time. One was a constable in the region.

★ Although she never left the Charlotte area, Daphne loves to travel and can efficiently pack for a two week stay in Europe with a carry on and an oversized purse!

Brendan Sobel

Vice President of Staffing & Delivery

As Vice President of Staffing & Delivery, Brendan leads and manages the day-to-day efforts of the Brixton sourcing, recruiting, and retention teams.

A 19+ year veteran of the staffing industry, he sets the tactical and strategic direction of the mission critical functions of the firm.

Some of Brendan's key responsibilities include Best Practice definition, Standard Operating Procedures creation, Key Performance Indicators analysis, Work Flow Automation, and Infrastructure improvements. His knowledge and expertise in identifying, recruiting, and developing top talent & relationships are the epitome of Brixton's core competency.

Brendan's entrepreneurial spirit, relationship-based approach to business, and fluid management style enables him to mentor and develop a seasoned on-shore and remote recruiting team responsible for all vendor and candidate relationships.

Brendan has a degree from the University of Vermont and lives in Rockville Centre, NY with his wife and twin girls.

Fun Facts:

★ Brendan loves music! His first concert at eight years old was AC/DC @ the Nassau Coliseum. His favorite touring band is Phish, he has seen over 250 shows all over the world!

★ Brendan served as the General Project Manager on the renovation of their home...an experience he hopes to have again.

★ He has a keen interest in home automation technology. That interest, along with conducting thousands of tech screens, has resulted in many a night in a dark office learning the ins and outs of several programming languages. However, he is not quite ready for that Scala Architect position @ Google just yet.

Rajiv Kandukuri

Chief Sales Officer

Rajiv is an accomplished industry expert with over 20 years of successful experience in IT Sales, Business Development, Organizational leadership, Operations and Delivery.

As Brixton’s Chief Sales Officer, Rajiv enjoys serving a multitude of Brixton’s prized customers realize their business goals.

He strongly believes that people are the biggest asset for any enterprise and he is most fulfilled when helping them succeed. Rajiv’s clients trust and recognize him for his exceptional service, absolute confidentiality and innovative thinking.

With several certifications in Digital Transformation, Big Data, Blockchain, DevOps, Cloud, Lean Six Sigma, Scrum and Kanban, Rajiv strongly embraces Future-Tech while delivering incredible value to his clients.

Having graduated top of his class in both Bachelors and Masters degrees, Rajiv understands and appreciates the importance of data when logically attempting to solve business challenges.

Fun Facts:

★ In his spare time, Rajiv loves racing motorcycles, enjoys cooking, learning astrology, reading Harvard Business Reviews, and watching movies.

★ He is also an avid sports fan and has recently started exploring photography.

Simon Key

Vice President of Client Service & Delivery – Technology

Bringing over 15 years of technology staffing experience, Simon leads the Brixton team in the Carolinas.

Prior to joining Brixton, Simon led a national accounts team for a staffing firm, oversaw sales and recruiting teams for a data and analytics solutions company, managed large accounts for an IT consultancy and worked as an account executive and then account manager for a boutique staffing firm.

Simon is originally from the UK. He spent two years travelling Great Britain, competing in semi-professional tennis tournaments while completing his studies. He then attained an academic and tennis scholarship to Monmouth University in New Jersey where he received his BS and MBA and was captain of the Men’s Tennis team.

Simon lives in Charlotte with his wife (they met at Monmouth!) and their three children.

Fun Facts:

★ Contrary to the English stereotype he enjoys cold, not warm beer.

★ You can frequently find him playing tennis at Olde Providence Racket Club and although he’s a 5.0, these days he's playing more doubles than singles!

★ When he was born, his village population changed from 160 to 161….it was 5 miles to the nearest shop and 20 miles to the nearest tennis court.

Gary Karp

Senior Director of Client Service & Delivery - Technology

Gary is a Senior Director of Client Service & Delivery - Technology at The Brixton Group.

He joined Brixton in 2014 after two decades with Accenture where he served in many capacities including Outsourcing Application Owner, Chief of Staff, and Commercial Lead.

Gary currently lives on the Upper West Side of NYC with his wife, two daughters, and two cats, Copper & Juneau.

Fun Facts:

★ Gary is an avid listener (mostly classic rock and occasionally client requirements) and loves to ask questions.

★ He desperately wants a dog and doesn’t have enough votes in the house.

★ When not working Gary enjoys family time, exercise in Central Park and UCONN Husky sports.

★ He serves on the board of his Co-Op and as the Treasurer of The Teddy Roosevelt Park Neighborhood Association.

Antoinette Edmonston

HR Manager

Antoinette joined The Brixton Group in January of 2022 providing operational support until being promoted to HR Manager. Her passion for providing the best experience for candidates and clients alike, comes from her years of working with several nonprofit agencies, businesses, and government agencies in a leadership capacity. It was here where she developed strategies and hiring practices that focused on diversity, inclusion, and belonging in the workforce through relationship building. This foundational experience has driven her decision making and all interactions during her time with Brixton.

As our HR Manager, Antoinette continues her passion for unparalleled service and support here at Brixton focusing on the most valuable asset - our People. Antoinette grew up in Long Island New York but moved to Charlotte in December 2021 with her husband and daughter. She received Degrees from Delaware State University (BA) and Dowling College (MBA).

Fun Facts:

★ Antoinette’s free time is filled with finding ways to help the surrounding community, either participating in local food drives, toy drives, volunteering at her daughters school, or doing tiktok’s with her daughter (she believes the joy that it brings to her daughter and daughter’s friends, to watch her attempt various viral dances has to be good for the community)

★ Antoinette recently found a love and passion for cooking and loves trying new recipes and testing them out on her family and friends.

Nate Smith

Client Service & Delivery Manager – Strategic Accounts

Nate was one of the first through the door in the early days of Brixton, originally joining in 1999.

Brixton’s unique approach to client service and delivery excellence was as evident then as it is today – relationships were forged as often on the soccer field or disc golf course as they were in the boardroom.

Fast forward two decades and Nate rejoined the team to advance Brixton’s reach in key client areas. A jack-of-all-trades, Nate’s laid-back style and approachable nature inspires the collaborative approach he utilizes to drive success for Brixton and its Clients.

Nate’s roots are in Iowa, though he spent time playing college soccer in Florida before settling in Charlotte, NC where he lives with his wife and two sons.

He follows English Premier League soccer with a fervor not often seen on this side of the pond and counts among his favorite sporting memories a trip to London to watch his beloved Arsenal play in person.

These days he enjoys watching his boys play “the beautiful game”, and also loves to play golf and tennis with the family when their busy schedules permit.

Fun Facts:

★ Nate is a grilling fanatic.

★ His neighbors often see him laboring over the grill or smoker at all hours, rain or shine, chasing the perfect ribeye, brisket, or pulled pork (Carolina-style, of course!).

★ His perfect day – something good on the smoker, Arsenal on TV, and his family at his side.

Rakesh Naik

Director of Technology Recruiting

As an award winning “Recruiting Manager” with over 15 years of deep IT Staffing experience, Rakesh Naik manages a high volume of contract and direct hire requisitions for Brixton on a day-to-day basis.

Known to be a people-person, Rakesh also takes special pride in mentoring and spearheading our fast-paced dynamic recruiting team that helps deliver best-in-class talent to various clients in Banking, Financial Services, Telecom, and other industries.

Rakesh has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from JNTU, India.

He brings a wealth of experience and a strong technology background to solve the most complex of challenges involving IT talent industry. He is an expert in tech-screening, implementing immigration standards, defining and executing a solid talent acquision strategy, optimizing job portals, analyzing staffing metrics, leveraging HR tech/AI platforms and empowering social networking initiatives.

Fun Facts:

★ Rakesh is a vegetarian and he is always looking forward to his next “Vegetable Handi Biryani” during weekends and friendly get-togethers.

★ He loves painting and his paintings have won him several awards and honors in the past.

★ Rakesh is also an avid coin collector and is proud of his 31-lb, 300+ coin collection spanning several countries across the globe.

Matt Adams

Lead Technology Recruiter

Matt is a seasoned Lead Technology Recruiter with over 5 years of experience, joining Brixton in 2018.

He specializes in network infrastructure, cloud engineering and agile methodology.

Matt has supported most industries and various skill sets.

Over the last 5 years he’s learned the importance of building long-term relationships with candidates and clients.

He grew up in eastern North Carolina and graduated from University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

He currently lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife and two-year-old son.

Fun Facts:

★ Matt enjoys grilling wings and making his own hot sauce, which he sells locally.

★ He loves sports, UNC, and good IPA.

★ After winning the state championship in high school, he went on the play college baseball.

Brooke Yates

Lead Technology Recruiter

Brooke is an experienced Lead Technology Recruiter who is passionate about interpreting a client’s hiring needs and matching what a candidate seeks in a career change.

She is committed to learning about what matters most to both candidates and clients, providing a “boutique recruiter” experience to deliver the right solution all around.

Her recruiting career started in 2015 with an IT Staffing company based in Northern Virginia.

Over the years, Brooke has been viewed as an influential leader, who is dedicated to driving an exceptional candidate experience – she understands the importance of building relationships with candidates and strives to be a genuine resource for them.

At The Brixton Group, Brooke focuses on full life-cycle recruiting for highly technical and specialized skill-sets.

As a key member of the team, she enjoys developing creative recruiting strategies that attract hard to find talent, cultivating ways to optimize recruiting processes, and continuously enhancing her technical skills knowledge through technical training sessions.

Fun Facts:

★ Brooke has been playing guitar since the age of 9 - she enjoys jam sessions with her Dad…until he starts singing.

★ She is a proud mama to her dog child, Winston. Winston enjoys the simple things in life like riding in the Jeep with the top down, sun shining, and the wind through her fur

★ Brooke moved from Maryland to Charlotte, NC in 2016 – to this day, you can often times find her daydreaming of steamed crabs.

Philip Berman

Chief Operating Officer

Philip is a seasoned entrepreneur providing leadership, operational and strategic direction of the firm.

He assembles and mentors a high caliber team and focuses the organization on driving exceptional value to clients.

Philip was the CEO of several other firms, driving revenue and profits, while leveraging
synergistic industry transactions. Philip has 3 children and has lived in Charlotte since 1993.

He earned a degree from Furman University, where he played varsity tennis.

Fun Facts:

★ Philip is an avid fan of consistently bothering his grown children with daily phone calls, which have recently resulted in leaving voice messages on their phones, since they seemingly have blocked him.

Courtney Doroba

Director of Client Service & Delivery – Technology

Courtney joined Brixton as the Director of Client Service & Delivery – Technology assisting clients in the Mid-West and Philadelphia Area in February of 2020, but she has been a career "matchmaker" since 2012.

Her passion for introducing candidates to clients, even if just temporary, is fueled by the idea that it never hurts to make new connections.

Courtney grew up in Northern New Jersey and went to college at West Virginia University, Let’s Go Mountaineers! After living in Philadelphia for a few years, she and her husband made the move to historic Haddonfield, New Jersey, where they raise their daughter Addison and work on renovating a 1929 home.

Fun Facts:

★ When she is not at her desk, you can find Courtney out fishing in the Atlantic Ocean, harvesting tomatoes in her backyard, or in front of a wood fire toasting up marshmallows with her family.

★ Fall is her favorite season (she loves apple cider donuts and football)!

Laura Feldman

Human Resources Manager

Laura joined Brixton in 2017 after spending time as a Business Manager for a small architecture firm, as well as owning her own business and working as a Business Analyst on Wall Street.

As Brixton’s Human Resources Manager, Laura puts her passion for helping people to good use each and every day.

Having been a consultant herself, she understands the needs of those we put to work and strives to make each consultant feel engaged and part of the Brixton family.

When not working with consultants, Laura works with our amazing Operations team to ensure our processes are streamlined, our benefits programs are current and fully implemented, and Visas are compliant. Not to mention making sure our many other HR functions are managed according to state and federal guidelines.

Originally a Southerner, Laura spent most of her formative years in New York. Even though she has lived in Charlotte long enough to raise her family here, she is a New Yorker to the core. Aside from her much-needed trips to NYC, she loves to travel with her husband and explore the small and hidden gems in other cities and countries. However, nothing makes her happier than to be together as a family with her two adult children.

Laura graduated from the State University of NY at Albany with a B.A. in Psychology. She and her husband are currently enjoying the empty nester life in Charlotte.

Fun Facts:

★ She loves puzzles – Sudoku, Crossword, or Jigsaw (but they must be at least 2000 pieces and very challenging).

★ Baking makes her happy (it’s really seeing the joy of the people when they eat her creations).

★ Sunday is for football!

★ Her family, the beach, and a book are a cure-all for what ails.

★ If she weren’t in HR she would want to be a criminologist or a spy.

Sara Robinson

Director of Client Services & Delivery

Sara recently joined Brixton as our Director of Client Services & Delivery bringing her passion and determination to the team. She has over 8 years in technology staffing, primarily working in the finance, healthcare and telecommunications industries. She enjoys networking, building relationships, and working in a fast-paced environment. You could say Sara has never met a stranger.

Sara was born in the UK but grew up in Charlotte, NC with her Iranian family. She graduated The College of Charleston with a Bachelors in Psychology and Computer Science. She currently resides in Atlanta, GA but tries to travel as much as possible! When she is not working or traveling, she spends time with her dog Stella or playing board games with her family and friends.

Fun Facts:
★ Known for hustling in Ping Pong Matches at Thomas Street Tavern.
★ Has a large collection of retro Video game consoles and plays at least once a week.
★ Volunteers at Atlanta Humane Society and takes in animals whenever she is not traveling.

Lorena Kwietniewski

Financial Operations

Lorena was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

When she was seven-year-old, she moved to California with her family and after many years of enjoying the Sunshine State, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2006.

Lorena discovered the finance world at the early age of sixteen and decided to take accelerated high school courses which led her in securing an accounting job with Carrier, in the national headquarters of the company, overseeing accounting for clients along the East coast.

Lorena left there to become office manager of an IT recruiting firm, in Huntington Beach, CA, where she wore many “hats”.

Her role was primarily accounting and HR, but also included event coordinating and contract administration.

A position in mortgage underwriting, with the loss mitigation team at Wells Fargo, became her next challenge.

Helping homeowners keep their homes, during the recession, was a very rewarding experience

In 2017, Lorena found her way into the Brixton family and has enjoyed her return to the world of finance, her original professional passion.

She manages day-today accounting functions for Brixton, and treasures the relationships developed during here time here.

Fun Facts:

★ On weekends Lorena enjoys family gatherings in which the “asado” or traditional Argentinian barbecue, always makes an appearance.

★ Even though California offers the many attractions that the rich and famous crave, Lorena enjoys living in North Carolina, where she can experience the four seasons, especially the refreshing summer rains she grew accustomed in her native Buenos Aires.

★ Also, rumor has it, that her family has a yearly competition to see who is the first one to spot the first firefly of the season.

★ Lorena enjoys the challenge of solving investigations before the real detectives do on true crime and investigation series.

★ An avid soccer fan, she can be found in the kitchen creating those wonderful game day meals that we all enjoy so much.

★ When there’s time away from work, Lorena loves to travel, especially to Mexico and believes New York offers the best food.

★ Music festivals are also the perfect getaway!!

Allison Cox

Senior Director of Recruiting

Allison is an accomplished, hands-on leader in both Talent Delivery and Strategic Accounts development. As Senior Director of Recruiting for Brixton, Allison leads and executes the day-to-day recruiting activities and business development efforts for the firm. She is a thought leader who helps establish plans, defines strategies and delivers solutions that redefine the way Brixton recruits and delivers talent. Allison’s consultative, relationship-based delivery approach with Brixton’s Clients repeatedly produces trusted and successful partnerships with our clients and candidates.

With over 20 years of experience in recruiting and professional services, she is a seasoned staffing executive who attracts and builds long lasting relationships to ensure a positive candidate experience. Prior to joining Brixton, she was a successful Sr. Recruiter for a large staffing firm where she could don her love for shoes and handbags. Embracing Brixton’s virtual model, she traded designer clothes for Lululemon, when she joined Brixton in 2014.

Allison is a native Washingtonian and earned a BS from the University of Maryland, College Park where she was on Poms with the marching band.

Fun Facts:

★ She’s a fitness enthusiast with a passion for dance, yoga and running.

★ She looks forward to spending time with her husband, three children and to her daily run to get a McDonald’s Diet Coke… and let’s face it, a little online shopping.
