  • Direct and oversee the architecture and development of data systems to meet application and reporting requirements
  • Support highly-available relational database and cloud data warehouse technologies
  • Monitor database systems, optimize database query performance, and ensure data security and durability
  • Document, refine, and standardize data pipelines from core application to downstream systems to meet integration specifications
  • Maintain metadata repositories and data diagrams to meet data governance standards
  • Review and establish best practices and processes for database object creation, deployment, and change control
  • Ensure data systems are secure by design
  • Troubleshooting, fault analysis, and issue resolution
  • Implementation and maintenance of high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as SQL Server replication, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, and Log Shipping
  • Investigate and resolve reported application issues, escalating issues as necessary to application owners
  • Provide On-Call support on a rotating basis which requires the flexibility to work off hours


  • BA/BS in computer science/related field or a minimum of 7 years of experience and strong expertise building solutions with SQL Server versions 2012 2019 and/or cloud data technologies like Snowflake.
  • SQL Server Administration experience including:
    • Stored procedure T-SQL code development
    • Backup and restore functions
    • Management of AlwaysOn Availability Groups
    • SQL Server Agent job creation and monitoring
    • Data Integration with SQL Server Integration Services
    • Reporting with SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting performance issues and providing operational support in high volume, high transactional and reporting environments
  • Strong knowledge of data security methods and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, virtual machines, and SAN storage
  • Expert knowledge of relational database and data warehouse concepts
  • Ability to build logical and physical data models
  • Strong ability to visualize data and concepts
  • SQL Server performance management and tuning

Preferred :

  • Experience migrating to cloud data service such as AWS, Azure, or Snowflake
  • Experience building Snowflake database applications
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI
  • Experience cooperating with data governance and data security programs
  • History of successful data transformation projects
  • Familiarity building master and reference data management solutions
  • Strong project management, planning, analysis, and documentation skills
  • Strong communication skills with a history of writing and presenting for executive audiences
  • Interest in becoming a mentor and subject matter expert to technical resources
  • Prior consulting experience including change management or application architecture/design skills
