We had the privilege of sitting down with Elisa Romero, Senior Director, Client Service & Delivery at Brixton. We discussed what made her choose a career at Brixton, how she admires her team and what makes someone successful in this industry.
What made you choose to work for Brixton?
I’ve been in the industry for over two decades and have worked with some of the top companies and vendors in the country. Brixton appealed to me for several reasons: 1) Seasoned industry professionals, who came from Fortune 500 companies and understood the delivery side. 2) Scalable model. The flexibility to be creative in a deal structure to support the clients needs and just make it happen attitude. 3) Long term relationships and solid industry reputation with both candidates and clients.
What makes Brixton different than other recruiting companies?
I appreciate Brixton for the combined level of expertise at our company. The collaboration and teamwork are like no other workplace I have been. Many of the employees at Brixton have backgrounds ranging from small to large tech company experience; C-level, consulting, delivery expertise and more. It’s a true collaboration effort. Also, Brixton has an incredible group of successful, seasoned recruiters.
What is your position and how do you create success for your clients?
My position is a Senior Director of Client Service and Delivery. First and foremost, I love what I do, and I appreciate the journey of relationship building. My role is focused on not only understanding the resource needs at hand, but rather the big picture, scope of the project and making sure we deliver on overall fit. I’m strategic by nature, so I do my best to make things easy for my clients and try to never re-invent the wheel.
What attracted you to technology staffing?
I started my career during some of the most exciting times in tech history. The internet, .com, YTK and the explosion of massive software platforms. I was part of the procurement explosion and had the opportunity to help build one of the largest procurement platforms in the country. My role in procurement exposed me to some amazing vendors and timing was right to make a change and grow my skill set to the next level. As they say, the rest is history.
What are some interesting things about you?
- I had a small stint as a self-publisher and published 5 books.
- I started and ran a social media company for 10 years
- I ONLY cook in the fall and winter months.
- I appreciate good tequila.
- I’m happiest traveling.
